Description: Deputy Emmons was struck by a vehicle when he responded to the scene of an automobile accident. Deputy Emmons was walking across the street with one of the drivers involved in the accident when both were struck by an oncoming vehicle. Deputy Emmons died of a broken neck and internal injuries. The motorist was charged with negligent homicide.
