Description: Officer Eklof and Officer Lines were en route to assist a citizen when the car they were riding in slipped on the ice and struck a pole. Officer Eklof was on the running board of the Model T, and was thrown from the vehicle. He suffered five broken ribs, multiple lacerations, two punctured lungs, and a right thumb was amputated. He died two days later. Officer Lines had minor injuries.
