Description: Officer Edwards, assisted by other lawmen, stopped a vehicle to question the occupants about their possible role in a drive-by shooting that had occurred several weeks prior. As Officer Edwards approached the vehicle, he was shot in the neck. Officer Edwards survived for one month before contracting pneumonia and succumbing to his injuries. Deputy Webster Reece was also killed in this incident.
