Description: Deputy Constable Ellis was shot with his own gun by a prisoner that he and Constable C.C. Hartman had arrested for the manufacture of illegal liquor. While Constable Hartman searched the residence, Deputy Ellis stood guard over the suspect. The suspect suddenly took Deputy Ellis' weapon and shot him twice.
