Description: Police Officer Elder was shot in an exchange of gunfire while in pursuit of suspects who had just robbed a grocery store. Officer Elder was off-duty and waiting in the parking lot when he observed the armed suspects fleeing from the store. Officer Elder was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Three suspects were convicted of first degree murder.
