Description: Sergeant Essoe succumbed to complications of gunshot wounds sustained on November 6, 1980. Sergeant Essoe was at a local mall to serve a warrant when he observed three suspects attempting to steal a car. As Sergeant Essoe approached the suspects to stop the theft, the suspects opened fire. Sergeant Essoe was shot two times and succumbed to his injuries 20 years later.
