Description: Police Officer Ellis was shot and killed while attempting to remove debris from the roadway. Officer Ellis was en route home when he stopped to clear debris that was purposely placed on the exit ramp of the freeway. Officer Ellis was lured out of his patrol vehicle, ambushed and shot multiple times. Officer Ellis died at the scene. The suspect remains unknown.
