Description: Officers Ellis and Delton Lawless were injured in a single-vehicle automobile crash as they responded to an accident call. Their patrol car skidded on a rain-slicked roadway and crashed into a grove of trees. Officer Ellis, who was the passenger, died at the scene. Officer Lawless survived the crash.
