Description: Officer Ellis entered a building through a door that he believed led to the office. Instead, he entered through the door that led to the basement. Patrolman Ellis was found on his back at the bottom of the stairs by his partner. Patrolman Ellis never regained consciousness and died ten days later of a fractured skull.
