Description: Detective Erickson collapsed and died after responding to several high-stress calls within a five day period. The combination of calls and investigations included a fellow officers death, a child’s suicide, a tourist death, an infant shot in the face and a multiple murder scene. These events left Detective Erickson suffering from sleep deprivation, stress, grief and fatigue. Detective Erickson died of a fatal heart attack on March 16, 2011 after completing a follow-up investigation.
