Description: Detective Edwards was shot and killed while trying to apprehend a robbery suspect. Detective Edwards was off duty and in plainclothes while returning to his personal vehicle when he spotted a suspect rummaging through his car. Detective Edwards called 911 to report the suspect. Detective Edwards attempted to apprehend the suspect and gave chase with his weapon drawn. Responding officers mistook Detective Edwards as the suspect and fatally shot him. Friendly fire.
