Description: On December 3, 1936, Patrol Officer Edmonds and Officer Gunnar Carlson were injured in a single-vehicle automobile crash while in pursuit of a stolen automobile. The crash occurred when the right rear tire of their patrol car blew out which caused the car to overturn and crash into a tree. Both officers were transported to the hospital. Officer Carlson recovered from his injuries. Officer Edmonds contracted pneumonia and died 20 days later on December 23, 1936.
