Description: Detective Everson was killed near Bellbuckle, Tennessee when he was thrown from a moving rail car as he attempted to quiet a group of rowdy passengers. Three suspects were arrested. As the suspects were escorted to court by Sheriff William and his deputies, they were set upon by an angry mob and riddled with bullets. One suspect died and the other two were wounded.
