Description: Sheriff Ellis was shot with his own gun as he struggled with a suspect. Sheriff Ellis arrested a man wanted for theft and escorted him to jail. The man struck Sheriff Ellis with his handcuffs, gained possession of the Sheriff's gun and fatally shot him. The suspect fled but was killed by a posse.
