Description: Lieutenant Floyd was killed during a day-long hostage standoff inside the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in Smyrna, Delaware. Inmates took Lieutenant Floyd and three other corrections employees hostage. Lieutenant Floyd was found the following day unresponsive and declared dead a short time later. His cause of death was multiple injuries including blunt impact injuries and injuries by sharp objects.
