Description: Officer Franklin died from injuries she received when she fell from the watch tower at the Julia Tutwiler Prison for Women. To reach the tower, officers must first climb a set of stairs and then climb up a ladder. On the morning of December 1st, Officer Franklin lost her footing as she attempted to climb up the ladder and fell backwards. She was transported to a hospital with severe neck and head injuries. She remained in a coma and died one week later.
