Description: Police Officer Fontes was struck and killed by a vehicle while conducting a traffic stop. Officer Fontes was struck by a pickup truck while assisting another officer during a routine traffic stop. A second officer was injured in the incident but survived. Officer Fontes was transported to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The suspect was charged with negligent homicide.
