Description: On July 6, 1909, Dispensary Constable Fishburne and Deputy Dispensary Constable John Altman were shot while attempting to stop a suspect from taking a keg of contraband whiskey from the railroad station. Constable Fishburne died at the scene. Deputy Altman died of his injuries three days later. The suspect was convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to 20 years in prison.
