Description: Special Agent Freer was attacked and beaten while attempting to arrest a deserter in Roundout, New York. Marshal Freer was then thrown into a creek where he drowned. His body was recovered two days later. The suspect was convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to seven years in prison.
