Description: Officer Fagan was fatally shot in the chest when he and Officer William Nelson were attempting to arrest three convicts who had just murdered Officer John Hartyre during a prison break from Sing Sing Prison. One of the convicts was shot and killed and the other two were arrested. The two that were arrested were convicted and executed.
