Description: Patrolmen Franken and Sherman Yearion were shot as they attempted to arrest a suspect who was brandishing two weapons and threatening the neighborhood. Patrolman Franken returned fire, wounding the suspect. Two other citizens were fatally shot and a third suffered a fatal heart attack. Patrolman Franken was shot in the abdomen and died of his injuries two days later. Patrolman Yearion survived his injuries. The suspect was convicted of murder and sentenced to death via the electric chair.
