Description: Officer Flowers and his partner were patrolling the rail yard early in the morning when they encountered two hobos in a rail car and ordered them out. When the hobos did not comply, Officer Flowers struck a match to see inside. One of the hobos drew a pistol and fired twice, striking Officer Flowers in the heart. Officer Flowers died at the scene.
