Description: Officer Faber was shot in the back while investigating a report of dogs running loose in the neighborhood. The suspect was shot and beaten by officers. Because of this incident of police misconduct, the suspect was able to plead to involuntary manslaughter and served three years of a seven year sentence. The man then sued the department for excessive force and was award $1.5 million by a jury. A federal judge later reduced that amount to $78,000.
