Description: Warden Patrick Curran and Deputy Warden Fromhold were stabbed to death at the Holmesburg Prison facility. The inmates went to Warden Curran to lodge a complaint. The inmates attacked Warden Curran and stabbed him three times in the back. Deputy Fromhold, hearing the scuffle, rushed to assist Warden Curran but was also attacked and stabbed 15 times. Captain Leroy Taylor pulled the inmate off of Warden Curran and was also attacked. The inmates were subdued by prison guards. Warden Curran and Deputy Warden Fromhold were rushed to the hospital where they were pronounced dead. Both inmates were incarcerated at the facility for killing Sergeant Frank VonColln and Patrolman Joseph Kelly in separate incidents.
