Description: On December 27, 1926, Justice of the Peace Funkhouser was shot when he answered a domestic disturbance call. Justice Funkhouser was instructed by Sheriff Bernard Borden to go to a residence where an intoxicated man was attempting to reconcile with his wife. When Justice Funkhouser arrived at the residence, the man pulled a gun and shot Justice Funkhouser in the neck. The suspect committed suicide. Justice Funkhouser died of complications due to the gunshot wound three months later on March 7, 1927.
