Description: Patrolman Flavin was shot in the back during a civil disorder. A bomb also tore apart his leg, requiring amputation. Patrolman Flavin died four days later of his injuries. Seven other officers were killed during the same labor dispute, which became known as the Haymarket Riot: Patrolmen Mathias J. Degan, Timothy O?Sullivan, John Barrett, George Miller, Thomas Redden, Nel Hansen and Michael Sheehan.
