Description: Officer Franklin was shot and killed during a robbery at a fast food restaurant in Paterson, New Jersey. Officer Franklin was off-duty when three armed suspects entered the eatery and announced a robbery. Officer Franklin identified himself as an officer and was shot several times by one of the suspects, who continued to shoot Officer Franklin as he lay on the ground. A citizen was also shot when he attempted to aid Officer Franklin.
