Description: Marshal Floyd was on patrol when he encountered the local blacksmith carrying a shotgun. Marshal Floyd's request that the man surrender the weapon was refused. Marshal Floyd left the scene, armed himself and returned to the vicinity. The suspect saw Marshal Floyd first and shot him. Marshal Floyd died the following day. The suspect was arrested and charged with murder.
