Description: Sheriff Gotcher responded to a call to arrest a local citizen for murder. He and five other officers arrived at residence where suspect was hiding. While searching a pump room Sheriff Gotcher opened a door and suspect shot him five times at point blank range. Officers returned fire and killed suspect. Sheriff Gotcher was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
