Description: While on foot patrol at a local apartment complex, Officer Gibson noticed a suspicious person behind the apartment building. As he entered a wooded area to investigate, a single shot rang out. The bullet penetrated his vest, Officer Gibson was found moments later with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was airlifted to a local hospital where he died a few hours later.
