Description: Patrol Officer Garcia was struck and killed while responding to a traffic hazard on Interstate 10. Officer Garcia activated his emergency lights and exited his patrol car in order to remove a ladder that was blocking two lanes of traffic. While removing the ladder, a vehicle struck Officer Garcia. Officer Garcia was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
