Description: Officer Gelhar died in an automobile accident while responding to a homicide call. Officer Gelhar was in the back of police vehicle following a police motorman to the scene of the crime. The cars in the road cleared the way for the motorcycle but failed to yield to the police car. A vehicle turned in front of Officer Gelhar's vehicle causing an accident which flipped Officer Gelhar's car. Officer Gelhar suffered a skull fracture and died the next day.
