Description: Chief Deputy Gibbons succumbed to injuries he sustained two days earlier when his patrol vehicle was struck head-on by a drunk driver. Deputy Gibbons was on routine traffic patrol when the driver suddenly veered into his lane and struck him head-on. Deputy Gibbons suffered severe head injures and died two days later in a local hospital.
