Description: Deputy Sheriff Gross drowned while attempting to save a teenage girl from the North Platte River. Deputy Gross entered the river in an effort to rescue the teenager. After the teenager was rescued from the river, authorities discovered Deputy Gross was missing. A massive search party consisting of numerous law enforcement agencies was organized and Deputy Gross??® body was recovered four days later.
