Description: Police Officer Georges died due to complications of a gunshot wound he sustained during a shootout on St. Thomas on May 26, 2012. While conducting sector patrol, Officer Georges and Officer Aaron Hodge approached a group of men loitering near a car wash. One of the men opened fire on the officers, shooting both Officer Georges and Officer Hodge. The suspect was shot and killed in the exchange of gunfire with the officers. Both officers were transported to the hospital where Officer Georges remained until his death on September 29, 2012. Officer Hodge survived.
