Description: Officer Gleason and Officer Laurine Venable stopped a fight and called one of the men involved in the altercation back to talk to him. The man turned and pulled a .32 caliber semi-automatic handgun and began shooting at Officer Gleason. Gleason was struck once in the head and once in each arm. Officer Venable returned fire. Officer Gleason was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The suspect was found guilty of first degree murder and sentenced to life in prison.
