Description: Aircraft accident Helicopter crash due to transmission failure. Officers Guider and Troyer responded to assist downtown patrol units in a robbery in progress call. The helicopter suddenly lost power and suddenly plummeted to the ground. The helicopter exploded in the north California Foothills, trapping both officers inside. The final investigation revealed that a possible sniper fired fatal gunshots, causing the department helicopter to crash.ircraft accident. Helicopter crash due to transmission failure.
