Description: Sergeant Godfrey was fatally shot in the head during a failed escape attempt as he struggled with a prisoner to gain control of the gun. Officer H. Drover and Deputy Warden D.C Oates were both killed in this incident at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary. The three inmates were also killed.
