Description: On July 27, 1906 Patrolman Gallagher was struck by a horse-drawn fire engine after he pushed a boy out of the path of the vehicle. Patrolman Gallagher was transported to the hospital with two broken legs and multiple injuries. Patrolman Gallagher leg was amputated and he subsequently developed pneumonia and died on February 8, 1907.
