Description: On September 26, 1895, U.S. Marshal Garden was in transit on official business in West Virginia when the train he was riding in crashed. U.S. Marshal Garden was badly scalded internally and externally by the hot steam. U.S. Marshal Garden did not recover from his injuries and died due to pneumonia five months later on February 21, 1896.
