Description: Officer Gresham was shot and killed at the corner of Terry and 18th Streets. Officer Gresham was believed to have been set up by the same man who fired shots in the neighborhood the night before and chased out of the area by Officer Gresham. While walking to the streetcar to go home, Officer Gresham encountered a man crouched behind a telephone pole. When Officer Gresham flashed his light on him, the man opened fire, striking him three times before fleeing in a waiting vehicle.
