Description: Officer Gaspar was shot and killed as he and other officers attempted to arrest a murder suspect at a local ice cream store. The officers had staked out a shopping center where the suspect had been sighted and attempted to arrest him as he entered the store. The suspect produced a handgun and fired, striking Officer Gaspar. Officer Gaspar was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
