Description: Deputy Sheriff Goforth was shot and killed while returning to his patrol car after paying for gasoline. While returning to his vehicle, a suspect approached Deputy Goforth from behind and shot him multiple times, emptying the magazine of the firearm. Deputy Goforth died at the scene. The suspect was apprehended the next day and charged with capital murder.
