Description: Officer Griess was struck and killed by a vehicle while conducting a traffic stop. Officer Griess was on the right shoulder when a distracted driver in a pickup truck veered onto the shoulder and struck Officer Griess, his departmental motorcycle, and the stopped vehicle. Officer Griess was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the stopped vehicle was also killed during the incident.
