Description: Special Agent Griffin was shot as he and a second officer observed a burglary in progress while patrolling the rail yard in Des Moines, Iowa. Agent Griffin observed two suspects stealing from a boxcar and ordered them to halt. The suspects responded with gunfire and killed Agent Griffin. Both suspects were arrested, convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison.
