Description: Deputy Sheriff Glidden was shot as he attempted to detain the driver of a stolen car. As Deputy Glidden jumped on the running board of the roadster, the driver shot him in the head. Deputy Glidden died at the scene. One suspect was killed in an exchange of gunfire with responding officers when he refused to surrender. The passenger in the car was placed under arrest.
