Description: Officer Gilbert and his partner responded to a call where a twenty-one year old Navy Seaman was threatening to commit suicide. When the officers arrived, the suspect opened fire on Officer Gilbert and his partner. Officer Gilbert was shot in the head and died instantly. His partner was able to return fire and kill the suspect. The suspect was intoxicated at the time of this incident.
