Description: Officer Gaul died from wounds sustained in a shootout with a deranged gunman. Officer Gaul was wounded in the head and leg when he and another officer approached the front door of a house at 3401 Pearl to answer a call reporting a man firing a gun. Officer gaul died five days later from his injuries. The man was later killed by the police.
