Description: Officer James Guelff was shot as he approached the scene of an attempted carjacking. A twenty-eight minute shoot-out followed between police and gunman. The assailant, who was later killed by a police sniper, was wearing body armor and carrying two assault rifles, an Uzi semiautomatic pistol, two other handguns, and hundreds of rounds of ammunition. Officer Guelff's vest was penetrated by the assault bullets from weapon.
