Description: Deputy Godley was shot as he attempted to arrest a suspect wanted on a charge of bigamy. As Deputies Godley and J. Henderson attempted to arrest the suspect, the suspect shot Deputy Godley in the head. Deputy Godley died of his injuries the next day.
